This is an internal API documentation for SocialPay.
What is SocialPay
SocialPay is a RESTful web service to process user payments for MisGroups, a group-booking service where each member in the group pays individually for the same group-oriented event.
The unique feature of SocialPay is the ability to pre-authorise a payment at each user's convenience and to capture all payments at one go by the group leader after everybody pre-authorised.
The background
The first version of the payment service for MakeitSocial group-booking was named GapiPay deployed on Google AppEngine. It is also called GroupPay or MisPay internally.
This documentation is about the second version of the service, renamed as SocialPay, or internally referenced as GapiPay v2.0.
The main reason for rebuilding GroupPay to make the new version was to migrate the service away from Google AppEngine to make it a Dockerised service which can be deployed easily on AWS.
The SocialPay API was then redesigned with the following points in mind:
- Make it a simply API without client website
- Use the MakeitSocial SSO authentication
- Allow plugins of other payment engines
